Wet N Wild Idol Eyes Cream Shadow: Pixie

Wet N Wild Idol Eyes Cream Shadow Pixie Review

Hello, Friends!

It’s been almost 6 months since I was regular with the blog…I got married in past November, preparations and a new life made me busy 🙂 But now as it’s been more than 2 months with the new life, I am back with my blog and I’ll try my best to be regular…

Starting with the review, today I will be writing about an eye product, an eyeshadow stick from the brand wet n wild. The brand is famous for its eyeshadow trios and their 8 pan shadows, and the product I have today is their cream eyeshadow stick called Idol eyes cream shadow. These shadows come in 6 different shades and the color I have today is called Pixie.

Product quantity: 3.2 g

Price: $ 2-3, INR 316.5 in India

Packaging:

The packaging of the pencil is pretty average and is like any other cream pencil. It is a short chubby color pencil with a transparent lid. The small size of the pencil makes it a cute piece on the dresser.

My take on the product:

Colour: Pixie is a pretty champagne color with pink undertones. The color is free of shimmers but has a frosty finish which makes it shine on the lids. The colour is appropriate not only for inner corners and for highlighting, but it also looks beautiful as an overall lid colour. It can also be used as a liner or on the lower lash line.

Pigmentation: When swatched on the hand it gives excellent pigmentation, so my first impression about the pigmentation is that it is amazing, but the colour loses its pigmentation on blending. Thankfully the colour is easy to build and even multiple swatches do not make it look bad.

Texture: The product is super easy to use due to its soft texture. The pencil glides on the lids effortlessly. But its super creamy formula makes it lose points on oily lids. The product is very oily which makes it crease easily. In just few minutes the lids start to look greasy. It is not something that remains on the lids after it sets; it is something that never sets on the lids. This makes the color to fade very easily.

Staying Power: The colour does not stay properly on the lids even for one hour. The staying power of the colour can be increased a bit by using a good primer underneath the shadow, but that too doesn’t help it to stay much longer.

Overall Thoughts:

Overall, yes it is a beautiful color but what’s the use of such a beauty that does not work properly. The color cannot be used as a base, like most of the cream shadows are used as it creases very easily. To make this color work you need a good primer underneath the shadow and a powder shadow over it. Personally, I didn’t like the idea of using 3 products just to use this one and even after so much effort the shadow doesn’t stay for very long. The color doesn’t even stay as a liner. But thankfully the shadow stick is not a complete waste; it works well in the inner corner and lowers lash line.

Pros of Wet N Wild Idol Eyes Cream Shadow Pixie:
  • Easy to blend
  • Affordable
  • Beautiful versatile color
  • Superb pigmentation
  • Soft, easy and convenient to use
  • Good for inner corners or lower lash line
Cons of Wet N Wild Idol Eyes Cream Shadow Pixie:
  • Creases
  • Doesn’t stay for long
  • Fades in few minutes
  • Can’t be used alone

Would I buy this product again?

No! I already have two of these and I did not like them at all, so I would not buy them again, neither this one nor any other shade.

Do I recommend this?

No! This product is not worth the price.
