Hello Beautiful Ladies,
Today I have another matte lipstick for you and this time it’s from the brand Makeup Revolution. I didn’t know about the brand till I saw it on Jabong.com, and then when I searched for it, I came to know that this brand does have great stuff and is mainly famous for its palettes, especially for the ones which are said to be the dupes of Urban Decay’s naked palettes. I did buy some palettes from the brand but I also wanted to try some lipsticks and so I ordered 3 of them. Today the color that I will be reviewing is called Divine.
Price: Rs 450
Ingredients: Not mentioned on the lipstick or on the official site
Don a striking and stunning look with this ‘Divine Amazing’ lipstick from the house of Makeup Revolution London. This lipstick ensures a long-lasting lustre and colour. This lipstick will lend you soft, smooth and supple lips.
My take on the product:
Packaging: The lipstick comes in an all black packaging with a colored top. The color of the top actually depicts the color of the lipstick. I love such kind of packaging where I don’t have to open up the lipstick in order to find what color is it. The lipstick does close with a click but the one I have is not very travel friendly as the closure click is not very secure.
Color: Divine is a peachy pink colored lipstick which seems true peach in the bullet, but when actually applied on the lips, it gives a hint of pink color. The shade is completely free of shimmers and is perfect for everyday use.
Pigmentation: The lipstick is average pigmentation wise; it’s neither too heavily pigmented nor too bad in pigmentation. 2-3 swipes of the color are required to get opaque color on the lips. I would not suggest applying more than 3 coats as after 3 coats the color starts to seem streaky.
Texture: Being a matte formula, Divine is not very moisturizing, infact it can be a bit drying if applied directly over the lips without a lip balm. The lipstick is not very smooth either, but it works just well. It does glide easily without much effort. Once it starts to fade, it starts to collect into the fine lines of the lips, which makes it look really unattractive.
Staying Power: Divine being a light color has a good staying power; the color stays well upto 5 hours but without any main meal. The color can withstand small meals, but they might hamper the intensity of the shade. If seen after a full meal, the color can still be seen but it is very light.
Fragrance: The shade has a fruity fragrance which is not very strong and vanishes away once the color is applied on the lips. I personally like fruity fragrances and hence I don’t mind my lipstick having it till the time they not overpowering.
Overall for me, this is an average lipstick with some good and some not so good points.
