Newly Launched: Sugar Mettle Matte Lipsticks and Liquid Lipsticks

Sugar Cosmetics have yet another newly launched lipstick formula called Mette Lipsticks. This Sugar Mettle Matte collection is categorized into Mettle Matte Lipsticks containing 10 shades and Mettle Liquid Lipsticks containing 12 shade options. I personally am not a fan of the majority of the lipstick formulas from Sugar Cosmetics but this particular range and its packaging are attracting me to try some of the colors.

I have already bought 2 shades from each range to try and so far I love the way they look and work on my lips. The shades I have from the Mettle Matte Lipsticks are 05 Hedone and 02 flora and the shades I bought from the Mettle Liquid Lipsticks are 12 Talitha and 02 Vega. I did not buy any of these lipsticks from the physical store but ordered them from the official Sugar Cosmetics website selecting the shades based on the swatches given on the website.

Price:
  • Mettle Matte Lipsticks are priced at Rs 1099 for 3.5 gm of product
  • Mettle Liquid Lipsticks are priced ar Rs 1199 for 7 ml of product

The Mettle Matte Lipsticks are said to be Made in China (which I noticed only when I was writing this post) and Mettle Liquid Lipsticks are Made in Italy. Both these lipsticks are on the higher price range as compared to other lipstick formulas from the brand. I do not mind the price I paid for the liquid lipsticks but I feel the price for the Mettle Matte Range could have been slightly affordable.

What I feel about this New Launch:

This particular launch from Sugar Cosmetics is one of the very few launches from the brand that attracted the Makeup Lover in me. I fell in love with the products as soon as I saw them in the first teaser launched by the brand. As soon as the collection went live on the Sugar Cosmetics website I bought 2 shades from each of the variants. Though yes I feel that the price point of these lipsticks is on the higher side (which they have tried to justify with the luxurious list of ingredients and the packaging), but after just swatching them on my hands I feel that the price point is justified in the case of at least the liquid lipsticks.

I swatched the lipsticks on my hand at around 6 in the evening just to have a look at the colors I bought. After which I washed my hands several times during the night and the following morning. I am happy to say that the liquid lipsticks were still strong at around 12 pm the next day. Though this cannot justify the staying power of the color on the lips, but, at least I have high expectations from the formula now. Another thing I would like to mention is that the colors and the packaging look prettier than shown in the pictures which is always a plus.

Have you tried any of the shades from the collection? Which one is your personal favorite?
