Movie Review Dilwale

Movie Review Dilwale

Hello, friends!

18th December marked the biggest movie clash of the year 2015 with both Dilwale and Bajirao mastani releasing on the same date. I wanted to see both the movies but the question was which one to see first and the SRK fan in me made me watch Dilwale on the very first day of release. Yes! I am a huge SRK fan and there was no way that I could not have watched the movie on the first day.

The film is directed by Rohit Shetty who is famous for his stunts as well as comedy and yes both these things can be seen in Dilwale too. The additional factor of Romance was mainly due to the sizzling chemistry between Shahrukh Khan and Kajol who were working together after 5 years. The storyline of the movie is highly predictable and the actual scenes will remind you of many other SRK movies.

Movie Review Dilwale

SRK’s role as a Mafia named Kali made him look extremely adorable and young. If you are not a fan of Shahrukh, then after watching him in the song Gerua, you will definitely fell in love with him. Shahrukh Kahn was easily able to pull of two different characters, one as Mafia ‘Kali’ and other as a simple car modifier ‘Raj’ and trust me, he looks superb in both the roles. Kajol looks stunning in the movie. With all the attitude and style, she looks perfect as a Mafia Daughter. She is at her beautiful best in the movie. Coming to the kids in the movie, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon played an important part in the movie is the younger brother and Younger Sister of SRK and Kajol. Varun Dhawan is a great dancer which he showed in the song ‘Manva Emotion Jage Re’.

My Overall thoughts:

Overall for me, it was a good movie which is not because of its storyline, but due to the SRK-Kajol pair and the fact that it has all the ingredients of a typical masala Bollywood movie. It is surely a family entertainer which would be loved by all who will not take their brains with them in the theatre and would go just for the purpose of getting entertained. And if you are an SRK fan then you surely cannot miss Dilwale.

The movie is performing well at the box office and has already collected 22 crores on its very first day. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh starrer Bajirao Mastani managed to pull off the first day decently with around 12 crores in its kitty.

Rating: 3.5/5

Rating (if you are an SRK fan): 4.5/5

  1. It’s good to see these oldies again. I somehow did not like the haircut of Shahrukh in Gerua song. Let’s keep my fingers crossed for the movie. Thanks for the review!

  2. Oh, lucky you, I was eager to watch Dilwale, but where I am now it is not showing 🙁 I am a huhe SKR and Kajol fan and they always look great and even better together! I will try to watch it in January, I guess I have to buy the DVD. I watched the trailer with Ranveer Singh and i looks goo, but I would do the same as you did – SKR and Kajol are unbeatable! So glad to read the review, thank you for that!
