Hello Beautiful Ladies,
Today I will be reviewing one of the unique shades of lipsticks. The shade I have today is’Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick Depraved’. The name depraved does not tell or indicate anything about the color and even the pictures shown on the website doesn’t do much justice to the actual color. Though the color looks beautiful in the bullet and might have looked good as a nail polish color, but on lips, it looks scary. To know more about the color, keep on reading.
The prices of makeup revolution lipsticks range from Rs 295 to Rs 450, and this being a unique shade, is priced at Rs 450. I didn’t pay the full price for the color as the product was on a discount when I bought it. (BUY HERE)
Depraved like all other amazing lipsticks, comes in an all black cylindrical packaging with a color-coded lid. The color coding on the lid exactly depicts the actual color of the lipstick. This color coding makes it really easier to identify the required color from a stack of different color which otherwise won’t have been easy. The packaging is good but the lid is not very secure. It comes off easily without doing much and this makes it not so safe to travel with.
Ingredients: Nothing is mentioned about the ingredients
This is what Jabong.com has to say about the lipstick:
Look stylish and quirky wearing this ‘Scandalous Depraved Amazing’ lipstick from Makeup Revolution London. Easy to apply and long-lasting, this lipstick will certainly top your favorites list in no time and is thus, a must-have in your make-up kit.
My take on Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick Depraved:
Color: Depraved is a glossy purple colored lipstick which can make anyone look scary. It is a color that no one would like to wear in their daily life or even parties until they have a Dracula or horror theme party. I am not sure why I bought this color, but I guess that I wanted to try something unique and different and this was the color that caught my attention. I only way I can think of for using this color, is by using a single light layer of the color to give my lips a nice purple sheen.
Pigmentation and Texture: The color is nicely pigmented, at least on the back of the hands, but it might not look as pigmented on the lips. 2-3 swipes are necessary to build up the color on to the lips. The color is very creamy and smooth to apply and this is not a very good sign for the color. Even after application of 2-3 swipes, due to the creaminess of the color, the color shows as patches on the lips, some areas being more pigmented than the others (you can relate to this in the lip swatches).
Staying power: The staying power of the color is decent, neither too good nor too bad. The color can stay up to 3-4 hours without leaving any tint on the lips. The color does fade a bit after eating or drinking, but as 2-3 swipes of the color are used initially, it stays pretty well for 4 hours.
Pros of Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick Depraved:
- Smooth and easy to apply
- Decent staying power
- Color-coded lid
- Moisturizes the lips well
Cons of Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick Depraved:
- Expensive compared to other colors of the same range
- This color is not everyone’s cup of tea
- No ingredient list
- The color appears patchy even after 2-3 swipes
Would I buy this product again?
No…..I don’t think that I‘ll be able to finish this one too, forget about buying another one.
Do I recommend this?
No, until you are preparing yourself for Halloween or some kind of fancy dress competition. This is definitely not an everyday color.

Oh wow, I was expecting this to be one of those lipsticks that changes colour on your lips – although you’re right in saying it’s not an ‘everyday shade’, it’s certainly true to colour and very bold! Have a lovely week 🙂
