Hey Girls,
Today I will be writing about a new launch from Lakme. Though I am not very fond of Lakme products but when I saw this online, the packaging attracted me; the product looked cute to me. I am talking about a range of new lip balm from Lakme. These lip balm are available in 4 different shades and I have 2 of them. The 4 available flavors are: Vanilla, Peach, Strawberry and Cherry. The 2 colors I bought are Strawberry and Cherry. Today I will be writing about the shade strawberry.
Price: INR 200 for 3.8 g
Packaging: These lip balms have a pretty packaging; they look very similar to the Elle 18 lipsticks. They too have a colored stick with a center transparent core filled with lip balm. The outer part provides a tint of color to the lips whereas the inner core moisturizes the lips. The strawberry flavor, as expected has a pink colored base with a transparent lid. this tube comes packed in a blister packaging with all the required details printed on the back of the card.

My take on the product:
When I saw this product online, my first reaction was for the packaging, the lip balm look really cute which made me fell in love with their cuteness. Strawberry is a shade of pink and has a light fruity fragrance. The fragrance does not stay for long but can be felt while applying. The outer stick is made of pink color which provides color to the lips. Being a lip balm the color pay off of the product is not so good, but it only imparts a very slight tint of pink to the lips. The tint is so light that it almost seems to be invisible on pigmented lips. The inner core is moisturizing, which actually serves the main purpose of the product.
It is a complete non sticky product which makes the lips moisturized for hours. I have tried this lip balm for around 4-5 hours and it remains on the lips even after a meal. Though the company claims many more hours of moisturization, but on me it did not stayed for that long. Usually whenever I have eat a full meal, my lip product goes off making my lips dry, this particular one does help me with my dry lips. I personally am in love with Maybelline’s Baby Lips, but this one is pretty comparable to those in terms of moisturization, but its price makes it lose a point.
The product has a SPF of 15 which makes it good for day use and helps in protecting the lips from the harsh rays of Sun. Â
Pros:
- Moisturizes the lips for a decent amount of time (but not as claimed by the company)
- Has SPF 15
- Has a nice fruity fragrance
- Attractive packaging
Cons:
- Little pricey as compared to some other lip balms
- No ingredient list
- The color is not pigmented at all, does not even give a little tint of color. a good 4-5 coats are required to get a very slight tint of pink.
Would I buy this product again?
No! I have already bought 2 of the 4 available variants, and I would not like to buy more.
Do I recommend this?
If you are crazy about lip balms and like to try different brands, then this is a good product to try.
