Hello Beautiful Ladies,
Today I have for you the Foundation from Lakme 9 to 5 range Lakme 9 to 5 range. When I brought this product I wasn’t sure whether it will work for me or not as I did not hear good reviews about this but as I was trying the other products from this line, I wanted to try this too. Read on to see what I think about this foundation.
Price: Rs 550 for 30 ml of product
Unfortunately, like all the other products from Lakme 9 to 5 range, this too does not have any ingredients mentioned on this.
Avoid messy spills & say no to touch-ups! This long-lasting formula does not streak or smudge. It is suited for Indian skin tones and blends in beautifully. Its blending properties make sure you don’t stand out or make you look “made up” or “overdressed”. The easy to use pump dispenser allows you to pump out the perfect amount required for adequate coverage.
How to Apply:
- Pump some foundation onto the palm of your hand
- Use your middle finger to dot foundation on your face
- Lightly blend the foundation in a downward direction from hairline to neckline
- Long Lasting, Mattifying
- Blends Well
- Pump dispenser
- Suited for Indian Skin Tones
- All Skin Types
My take on Lakme 9 to 5 foundation:
The foundation comes in a transparent glass bottle with a rose gold colored cap. The bottle has a pump on the top which actually makes the foundation easier and hygienic to use. Pump dispenser makes sure that only the required amount of product is released. The bottle itself is securely packed inside a pink colored box. The packaging is appealing but I won’t say that it is travel-friendly as the bottle is made of glass and it is risky to travel with a glass bottle
The foundation is available in just 3 color options and this is the biggest minus point of this. The shade I have selected for myself is Marble which is a little light for me. But thankfully it does not look too bad and I can work with it. The company claims this to be a long wearing foundation and it is true to its claims. The foundation stayed on me for a good 7 hours and even after 7 hours my skin was looking fresh and neat.
One thing that I noticed is that if your skin is not properly prepared for foundation or is not properly moisturized, this foundation leaves dry patches. When I first applied the foundation I had dry patches near my nose and after 2 hours when my sebaceous gland started their work and my nose section became oily, the dry patches disappeared. I am not exactly sure why this happened, but I honestly liked the way the foundation looked on me after 2 hours of the application as compared to the freshly applied look.
The foundation is easy to apply and can be applied by using fingers, a sponge or a makeup brush. I personally do not like using my fingers but it blends really well with all the three methods. The company says that it is a Mattifying product, which was not true for me. Since the moment I applied this foundation I had a dewy glow on my skin which remained the same throughout the day and even when I was about to remove I had the same glow. The foundation did not give me a matte look even for a second. Though I like the dewy finish more that matte face, but the claim made by the company is not true.
While using this foundation, try not to rub it too hard, else it might come off in the form of small particles.
Pros of Lakme 9 to 5 foundation:
- Decently priced, affordable as compared to many other foundations
- Good quantity for the price
- Gives a dewy glow to the skin
- Long wearing
- Blends well
- Pump dispenser makes it easy and hygienic to use
Cons of Lakme 9 to 5 foundation:
- Limited shade availability
- Might leave dry patches when initially applied
- No ingredient List
- Might not be suitable enough for dry skin ladies
- Has a pathetic smell to it which thankfully goes off on application
Would I buy this product again?
I did like the way it looked on my skin but for long wear, I liked my Revlon Whipped cream more, so I might not buy this again.
Do I recommend this?
If you are looking for something which is long wearing and glowy, then this one is for you, but I won’t suggest this to ladies with dry skin. (BUY HERE)
