The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick Honest: Review and Swatches

The Balm Liquid Lipstick Honest

No girl ever said that she has enough lipsticks and I am definitely one of those. I have tonnes of lip colours in all different variants and colours, but as liquid lipsticks are very popular these days, I can’t have enough of those. Since the longest time, I wanted to try long wearing liquid lipsticks from The Balm, but the brand is not so easily available in India. One day when I was ordering some products from a foreign website that delivers to India I saw these liquid lipsticks and I immediately added two to my cart.

Today after using it for few weeks, I am ready to share my views on one of the colours I have.

My Take on The Balm Liquid Lipstick Honest:

The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks comes in a cylindrical tube packaging which is convenient to travel with. The formula and the lid, both are thick and secure enough to avoid any spillage of the product inside the hand bag.

Honest is a peachy orange coloured lipstick which is completely free of any shimmers and dries completely matte. I personally am not a very big fan of completely matte lip products as they tend to dry my lips and make me feel uncomfortable. This too dried my lips a bit but it wasn’t uncomfortable. It has a very creamy kind of texture which takes few seconds to dry and become matte. The wand provided with the lipstick is super easy and convenient to use.

I wanted the colour to be transfer proof but it isn’t. Though it does not completely get vanished from the lips after a meal, it does fade a lot. It gets transferred all over the mugs and glasses. After having dinner and dessert I felt uncomfortable with the lipstick as it started to flake. Also, as they do not stay put together for long amounts of time, they need to be reapplied after few hours.

Unlike other liquid lipsticks, they are not uncomfortable but they are not as long lasting too.

Will I buy them again?

I like the way they felt initially, but on me after 3-4 hours, they accentuated every single line on my lips and made me super uncomfortable in the way my lipstick looked, so I would not prefer to buy any other shade from this range.

Do I recommend them?

I loved the colour ‘Honest’ and if you are not a dry lip lady, then you must grab the colour as soon as you can.
