Stila One Step Correct: Review and Photos

The most important part of getting a good base for makeup is the use of the perfect primer. Primers not only help to give a smoother finish but also helps in keeping the makeup stay put for longer hours. There are many types of primers available in the market, each for a different purpose. Some help in smoothening the skin, some helps in reducing visible pore size, while some others help to give an even skin color. The product that I’ll be talking about is Stila One Step Correct.

Stila One Step Correct

I have always been skeptical about using correcting primers, but the 3 in 1 swirl pattern in the bottle always attracted me. Then one day I finally got stuck into buying this. The SA in Sephora recommended it to me and I eagerly said yes.

Price: INR 3020 for 30 ml (can be bought online from lookfantastic.com @ INR 2110)

Ingredients:

Stila One Step Correct

What it is:
This innovative triple swirl helix serum instantly color corrects, brightens, primes and nourishes the skin. One step correct immediately improves skin tone, even out your complexion and helps smooth fine lines.

The 3 colors in the helix are:

Green: which helps in minimizing redness

Lavender: Counteracts sallow undertones

Peach: Brightens, illuminates and helps diminish the appearance of sun spots.

Packaging:

The product comes in a sturdy transparent plastic bottle with a black lid. The primer has a pump which not only makes it easy to use but also helps in keeping the product hygienic. The thing I liked about the packaging is the bottom pump. Unlike the usual pumps that have a tube, the pump in this product has a plastic base which comes up as the product is getting used. This ensures that no product gets wasted and the last drop of the product gets used too.

My take on Stila One Step Correct:

The company claims the product to be color correcting, which is true. It’s a primer, so it does not work by completely hiding all the flaws of the skin, but the 3 colors in the primer do help to even out the skin tone up to a great extent. I do not have major skin concerns, but my skin, especially around the nose and cheeks, tend to get reddish. This product helps to cover that. A very small quantity of primer is required for the entire face, and even that small amount does wonders for me. My face instantly looks brighter and comparatively flawless. It does feel moisturized too.

I am not sure that whether I can call this product a primer or not as the word primer is nowhere written on the bottle, it’s actually a skin tone correcting & brightening serum. And as it is a serum and not a primer, it does nothing to make my makeup stay longer. Also as claimed, the product does not help my fine lines too. The product helps in moisturizing the skin and feels extremely soft and non-sticky.

Overall Verdict:

Overall I should say that now as I have the product I like it. I like the way it makes my skin looks after application. I like the swirly pattern of the colors and the effect of each color too. But for more than 3000 bucks, I won’t buy it again. I would rather try to get my hands on 3 separate color correctors or may be a color correcting palette to suit my needs.

  1. Oh…..finally saw ur review about this product. Actually I was also seeing the product to buy but due to the price range i was double minded…I guess I will try to get other products rather than getting this. BTW Nice review dear it did help me….

  2. The concept is amazing! I mean, I loved the fact that they actually placed 3 colour correctors in a bottle which dispenses all of them simultaneously. Anyway, sad that this is quite expensive. Nice post btw. 🙂
