Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer: Stellar Review and Swatches

I promised that I will be writing about all the 5 colours of Rimmel Apocalips from my collection, but few days back I was able to review only 3 of those. The once that I have already reviewed on my blog are Apocaliptic, Luna and Light Year. Today I have the fourth shade for you all and the color I have today is called Stellar.

Product Description:

My take on the product:

Like all other Apocalips this one too comes in a tube with a doe foot applicator. The applicator just picks up the right amount of product that is sufficient for one application. These lip colors are one of the cheapest options of liquid lipsticks that are available in the market.

Stellar is a beautiful shade of red. It is actually a pink toned red that is perfect for special occasions. The color is completely free of shimmers, but as it is one of the brightest shades of the collection, it cannot be worn daily. Though the color is perfect for parties and other special occasions, but it can sometimes be worn during the daytime too to get that bold and sexy look. The color is not completely opaque, though the pigmentation is good and 2 swipes imparts a full color, but I feel that there is some kind of sheerness to the color. Personally I loved that sheerness as it makes the color a bit more wearable.

Stellar makes my lips feel and appear soft. The color can be a bit drying after few minutes, but this problem can be sorted by using a lip balm underneath the color. The product does not feel heavy on the lips. One thing that need to be kept in mind before using this color is that, the lips needs to be properly exfoliated otherwise once the color starts to fade, lips start to appear pathetic. All the flaws of the lips become visible when the color fades.

Staying power of the color is good, but the best point is that, this color stains the lips. I know that some girls do not like their lip products to be staining, but I personally love it. Once the majority of the color is gone, a light tint of red color stays on the lips. This stain can last for a long time depending on the snack or meal taken in that interval. Once a complete meal is taken, the stain goes off completely.

I once wore this color to office just because of its staining properties. The color itself would have been too bright so I just touched a little amount of color to my lips and spread it with my finger, once it was completely set, I removed the excess color with a tissue and all I was left with was a beautiful red stain on my lips.

Overall, this is a good color that can make you look beautiful at any point of time, but if not used on proper exfoliated lips, it can make your lips look too bad.
