Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer: Nova Review and Swatches
Hello Beautiful Ladies,
Today I will be reviewing the last Apocalips from my collection. The shade I have for you today is called Nova and it is a beautiful subtle shade of pink. This is one of the most wearable shades from my collection.
Product quantity: 5.5 ml
Price: Rs 475
Ingredients: Not mentioned
It’s the End of Colour as you know it!
The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine.
It’s neither a lipstick nor a gloss… It’s BIGGER than both!
LONG LIVE THE COLOUR!
My take on the product:
Like all the other Apocalips, this too comes in a tube packaging which has a black screw on lid. The applicator is attached to the lid itself, which happens with most of the glosses. It has a doe foot applicator which helps in easy application of the product. The base of the tube is colored in the shade of the actual lip color which helps to recognize the required shade from a bunch of shades.
Nova is a milky pink kind of a shade which is creamy in texture. It is not entirely different in formulation than all the other Apocalips but I found this one to be a bit creamier. It gives a beautiful shine to the lips and is perfect for everyday use. Like many other Apocalips, this too does not contain any shimmer particles and so is easy to wear.
Pigmentation wise, the color is decent, it actually has good pigmentation but it cannot be said to have amazing pigmentation. 2 coats of the color are required to get a fully opaque look. This particular color feels great on the lips. It does not feel heavy nor does this one feel drying. But one minus point I have about this color is that, it settles into the fine lines of the lips. Initially it makes the lips seem smoother but as the time passes, the color starts to settle in the fine lines, which after a certain point does not look good.
The color has a decent staying power of 3-4 hours, but this can be highly reduced if a full meal is taken during these hours. The color is transferable and transfers on everything the lips touch. Transferring reduces the intensity of the color. The color does not stain the lips and hence not even a slightest tint of color is left once this lip color is gone.
- Affordable as compared to other liquid lipsticks that are available in the market
- Does not leave any line on my lips
- Perfect color for everyday use
- Smooth to apply
- The applicator picks up the right amount of color
- Does not dry lips
- Settles into fine lines
- Average staying power
- Streaks in a single coat
Would I buy this product again?
No! Though I liked the color, and the formulation is also good, but I already have 5 if them and so I won’t buy more shades.
Do I recommend this?
Yes! If you are looking for liquid lipsticks or a product that is between a gloss and a lipstick, then this is a must try
