REVLON COLORSTAY WHIPPED CRÈME MAKEUP REVIEW

Hey Girls,

When I started doing makeup, I never used to apply foundation, I used to go for a liner shadow and a lipstick but as the time passes I understood the importance of a clean base in makeup and then I started my journey in the world of foundation. My initial foundations were the more affordable one from Lakme and Revlon and only after a year I went for the one that I will talk about today. Today I will share with you my most loved foundation. Revlon’s Colorstay foundation is the one that I love the most and this is the product that I will review today.

Product quantity: 23.7 ml

Price:  Rs 950…I brought this product around a year back and that time it costed me Rs 850. Revlon has raised their prices.

Packaging:

This foundation comes in a round tub packaging with a transparent glass base and a black twist open cap. The packaging is decent but is risky to travel with. As it is made of glass the tub can easily break. Also I personally do not appreciate tub packaging as the foundation gets into my nails and it can be unhygienic too. To avoid this situation I usually use a cotton bud to get my foundation out of the bottle.

Product Description:

Finally, truly decadent makeup offers ultimate performance. The mousse-like texture feels like silk on your skin and the time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. All-day, flexible wear without flaking, caking, or feeling heavy.

My take on the product:

Revlon’s Colorstay range attracted me when I first read about their Colorstay liquid foundation which had the power to stay all the day. When I went to get that foundation I discovered that it is not available in India and here all we have is Colorstay whipped cream. As I was attracted by the 24 hours staying power I didn’t bother about this being a cream or a liquid and I brought it. I am truly happy that I brought this.

The most amazing thing about this foundation is that it actually stays for the complete day. I haven’t tried it for 24 hours but I have tried the foundation for around 13-14 hours and it stays on perfectly without cracking or flaking. The foundation has a very smooth texture and is super easy to apply. It can be applied with or without a primer and it stays all day long in both the cases, but when applied with a primer underneath it applies much more smoothly.

The foundation can be applied with finger, a sponge can be used or it can also be applied with a foundation brush. In all the three cases the foundation gives a flawless finish. Revlon’s Colorstay whipped cream is a medium to full coverage foundation and can easily hide minor imperfection. 2 layers of the foundation can be applied to get a better coverage but more than 2 layers can make it look blotchy.

Everything about the foundation is good, but I thing I care about before using this foundation is, properly moisturizing my skin before applying this. If skin is not properly moisturized and prepared for this foundation, dry skin ladies might have issues with dry patches. To avoid this, the best solution is to prepare the skin for foundation application.

Pros:

  • Stays for all day long
  • Does not look patchy or cakey
  • Very smooth to apply
  • Easy to use, can be applied with any kind of applicator
  • Provides medium to full coverage
  • Easily hides minor imperfections
  • Free of Talc and Parabens
  • Small amount is required for the entire face
  • Available in many color ranges

Cons:

  • Tub packaging might be unhygienic if not used carefully
  • If skin is not moisturized before applying the foundation, dry patches might bother.
  • Pricy

Would I buy this product again?

Yes! This is my go to foundation. Whenever I want full day coverage I just trust this baby.

Do I recommend this?

Yes! Though it is a little pricy but it is completely worth the price. Only a small amount if required and thus it goes a long way.
