My take on Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel Wild Card:

Like usual packaging of nail polishes, this one too comes in a cylindrical bottle with a black colored lid. The applicator attached to the lid is a flat wide brush which makes it easier to apply the polish onto the nails. But care has to be taken while applying the color as the brush picks way too much product than actually required which if not removed from the brush can end up flowing out of the nails.

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel: Wild Card (440)

‘Wildcard’ is a beautiful shade of dark blue which is not too bright or funky and can be easily used on any occasion. The color is such that it can compliment and look graceful with any skin tone. The polish is a gel formulation has a unique kind of shine to it which makes it look even prettier. Unfortunately, the shine does not remain same as the days pass and the polish start to look just like an ordinary polish in almost 2 days.

The color is nicely pigmented and a single coat of the polish can impart a decent amount of color. But in order to get the exact color as seen in the bottle 2 coats are required. A single coat might look a bit streaky and not so opaque but the second coat makes the polish look just perfect with complete opaqueness. The formulation of the polish makes it easier to glide the polish on the nails without many efforts. It is neither too thick nor flowy and the gel formula helps the color to stay on the nails.

Almost everything about this polish is good, but unfortunately, I am not very impressed with the staying power of the polish. Though it might stay up to 4-5 days, but the color starts to chip and fade from the very next day of application. Application of a top coat might help and prevent the chipping for a day, but it does not help the fading of the color from the top edges of the nails. Als, the drying time of the color is way too long, the color seem to dry in 2 minutes of application, but after that if you tend to touch your nail or accidentally pass your fingers through your hair, you will notice marks on your nails, it won’t be as smooth as earlier.

Would I buy this product again?

I liked the way the polish looked on my nails and the way it glided smoothly, but I am not very impressed with the staying power. I might not buy the same color again, but I would definitely like to give some other colors a try, just in order to check whether they have the same formulation or not.

Do I recommend this?

Yes! But keep in mind that you might need a good top coat with this polish.

Rating: 3/5

  1. Your nails are so long and looks healthy. This is indeed a good nail paint. I will definitely give it a go next time I go for nail paint shopping. 🙂

  2. Swati, I really like this color… it is a beautiful shade of blue… however; I am partial to shellac for how long it lasts on my nails… I need a product that will stand up to lots of nail abuse… xox
