OPI Nail Lacquer Suzi Takes the Wheel: Review and Swatches, NOTD

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

Today I will be reviewing a Nail Lacquer from the famous brand OPI. I always wanted to try an OPI Lacquer but as it was so expensive, I never was able to gather the will to buy one. But one day when I saw that these nail paints are on discount on Nykaa.com, I decided to get at least one of them. As they were on discount there were not many options available and some of the better colors were sold out. There were only 4 colors left and I decided to get one of them. The shade I will be reviewing today is ‘OPI Nail Lacquer Suzi Takes the Wheel’

Product Description:

OPI takes to the American road with a palette of shades that brings a new spirit of classic style to life. Now is the time to reinvent ourselves with stunning new colors – and what better inspiration than my recent road trip from coast to coast? These lacquers capture the American I love – an attitude of comfortable glamour and charismatic, wearable elegance. Truly united shades of allure.

Packaging:

The polish comes in a usual packaging with a transparent bottle and a black cap. The brush attached to the cap is average sized; it is neither too thick nor too thin. It is sized such that to apply the color, 2 swipes of the brush are required.

My take on OPI Nail Lacquer Suzi Takes the Wheel:

OPI Nail Lacquer: Suzi Takes the Wheel Review and Swatches

Color: Suzi Takes the Wheel is a shade of gray with green undertones. It is a kind of color which is different from all the shades I have. The color is completely free of shimmers and it gives a glossy finish to the nails. I like applying unique kind of shades and this is my kind of shade. The color makes my hand look prettier. It does not make them look dull.

Pigmentation: The color is nicely pigmented, it becomes completely opaque even in the first application, but I still applied a second coat in order to make the color last longer.

Texture: The polish has the perfect texture; it’s neither too thin nor too thick. The color applies perfectly to the nails without being streaky. It is a fast drying formula and takes less than a minute to dry completely.

Staying Power: I liked everything about this nail polish except its staying power. Though the color stays on the nails easily up to 4-5 days, but it starts fading from the upper edges from the very next day of application. I applied two coats and still, it faded the next day. Thankfully the color does not chip from the center of the nails and fades gracefully.

Fragrance: This is something which makes this polish different from other polishes I have used. Unlike other polishes, this does not have a typical nail polish smell. It does have some kind of smell but it is not too strong and fades away as soon as it is applied to the nails.

Would I buy this product again?

Though I am not very impressed with the formulation of this polish, but Yes I would like to give the brand another chance and would definitely buy some more colors from them. But I may not buy the same color again.

Do I recommend this?

If you are a fan of gray polishes and are looking for something different, then this is the color for you. It looks absolutely beautiful on the hands.

  1. I like OPI very much, I have some of the colors – in the Uk they are fairly priced, but imported I understand they will be pricey. The big bottle I find too big, so sometimes I buy the mini ones, good for 3 applications, I think. I must confess that I never tried them alone, I always use a top coat on it and then it lasts well. This color is very beautiful, I love it and your nails are amazing!

    1. it is so much pricy that spending 670 bucks on a nail paint seems to be so difficult…..huh…..but thankfully I got it on a discount….will buy some more shades if they will be on discount 🙂

    1. 🙁 I was really shocked to see my nails the next day of application…the color already started fading the very next day 🙁

    1. thank you Farah…..yes the price is truly a negative point for these nail colors….but the color itself is actually pretty 🙂
