Nykaa Pop Nail Enamel Strawberry Tart (24): Review and Swatches

A few days back, I did a makeup haul in which I showed some of the nykaa polishes that I bought from the site. The shade I’ll be reviewing today is Nykaa Pop Nail Enamel Strawberry Tart. After using it twice, now I do have an opinion about this color which I will be sharing with you all today. Before getting into the detailed review about the color, let me talk something about the nykaa polishes in general.

A few months back Nykaa.com launched few colors of polishes which were named as Nykaa. When they were initially launched, there were not many shades available, but slowly, nykaa expanded their range and now these polishes are available in a large number of color options.

Packaging:

Nykaa polishes are packed in a usual kind of glass bottle with a black colored screw on cap. There is nothing fancy about the bottle, but for Rs 149 I didn’t expect anything too crazy. The cap is tightly secured and the polish is safe to travel with. I have 6 colors from the range and I have not had any problem regarding the leaking of the color. One thing I liked about the packaging of these polishes is that the bottle is designed in such a way that the color can be seen even from the top, which means that the color can easily be identified even if all the polishes are stacked together in a drawer. The applicator provided with the polish is of medium width and thus 2-3 swipes are required to paint the entire width of the nail.

The product or the site does not contain a full list of ingredients, but it does state the not so good ingredients which are absent from the formulation. Nykaa says:

My take on Nykaa Pop Nail Enamel Strawberry Tart:

Strawberry Tart is a beautiful Fuchsia pink shade which is a must-have in every girl’s nail polish collection. It is a kind of shade that can be used for everyday basis or can also be used for a night out. The color is perfect for Indian Ladies who sometimes do not want to go out of their comfort zone. It is a shade that can be used by all.

The color is highly pigmented and usually, a single coat is sufficient for an opaque look, but I personally like to apply 2 coats of the color to make it look even better. The main reason I like to add a second coat is, that, the second coat improves the staying power of the color. The color usually does not chip or fade, but if a single coat is applied, the color might start to fade from the top sections of the nails from the very second day of application, but if 2 coats are applied, it stays for 3-4 days without fading.

The color is completely free of shimmers and thus is not too difficult to remove. Unlike some bright colors, this particular polish does not stain your nails nor does it makes them yellow. The first time when I was trying to remove the color from my nails, I saw that my nails were pink even after removing the polish, but later I realized that it’s not because of the staining effect of the color, but all I need is another round of remover.

The only thing about which I am not very pleased in the formulation of this polish is the fact that it changes its consistency very quickly. The day I received this polish and today, there is a huge difference in the consistency of the polish. It has become much thicker as compared to what it used to be earlier which is making it a bit difficult to apply. I just hope that this is happening with this color only.

Pros of Nykaa Pop Nail Enamel Strawberry Tart:

Beautiful everyday color which can be worn by almost anyone
Can be doubled as a night/party color too
Nicely pigmented
Do not chip
No shimmers, thus not so difficult to remove
Does not stain nails

Cons of Nykaa Pop Nail Enamel Strawberry Tart:

Fades from the top corners of the nails especially if a single coat is applied
Consistency of the polish changes in few weeks (it actually becomes thicker in 2-3 weeks)

Would I buy this product again?

Though I liked the shade, but still I might not buy the same shade again as it is a kind of shade which is not very difficult to find in other brands, moreover I am not happy with the changing consistency of the polish. But, yes if the other shades work well for me then I might buy some neutral shades of this range too.
