Nykaa Matte Nail Enamel Popsicle: Review and Swatches

It has been more than one year since I shared my Nykaa nail polish collection and since then I haven’t bought any new shades from the brand (except their unicorn nail enamels) which I shared a couple of months back. Today I will be sharing my views on Nykaa Matte Nail Enamel Popsicle.

In the past, I have tried Nykaa’s pastel nail polishes, their regular polishes as well as their unicorn nail polishes. All as the name suggests all of these have a different finish and the one that I am sharing today is Matte.

Ingredients: Not mentioned except the fact that it is free from 5 major harmful chemicals.

Packaging:

Like the majority of the other Nykaa polishes, these matte polishes too, come in a thin square shaped glass bottle with a black colored screw on cap. The brush is attached to the lid like any other polish and is of a decent width. 2-3 swipes are required to paint the entire width of the nail. One thing I liked about the packaging of these polishes is that the bottle is designed in such a way that the color can be seen even from the top, which means that the color can easily be identified even if all the polishes are stacked together in a drawer.

My Experience with Nykaa Matte Nail Enamel Popsicle:

Popsicle is a bright neon orange nail enamel which is certainly not everyone’s color of choice. The color is perfect to add a pop of color to a regular boring outfit. I am a fan of orange color and I do like neon colors too, but somehow the mixture of both orange and neon especially along with the matte formula did not impress me. I do not like the way this color looks on my nails, neither on short nails nor on longer ones.

Being a matte polish, it does dry completely matte but this particular color does not look too good in a matte finish. I am not sure if this is true or just my delusion, but I feel that the color Popsicle make my hands look dark. Staying Power is the only thing I liked about this polish. The formula stays for a good 3-4 days without chipping or even fading, beyond which I personally haven’t tried the formula.

Overall Experience:

For me, Nykaa’s nail polishes are a hit or miss. I do like some of their formulas but hate some others. The matte formula is not my favorite one and especially the color Popsicle is one of the very few colors I hated on myself. I would love to try some other color from their matte range, but would not recommend this particular color.
