It has been a while since I actually wrote about anything new that is available in the market. Today’s post would be about a new eyeshadow palette from Nicka K makeup. I wasn’t aware about the brand until recently when I came across their Under the Sea eyeshadow palette. I used the palette and loved it so much that when the brand came up with a few new palettes, I grabbed 2 of the shades.
The eyeshadow palette that I will be writing about today is Nicka K Lucky Charm Eyeshadow Palette, which is a 9 Pan Green color eyeshadow palette. I have also created an eyelook using the palette and have a tutorial for the same. The tutorial on the eyelook is given at the end of the post.
Now, let’s get into my thoughts about the palette!
Price: Rs 699 for 8 gm of the product (BUY HERE)
Play up your eyelids with vibrant mattes and icy shimmery colors. Each palette is packed with an array of nine highly pigmented shades and long-lasting formula to blend with ease. My Experience with Nicka K Lucky Charm Eyeshadow Palette:
The color theme of the eyeshadow palette Lucky Charm is green and it contains all sorts of greens, both matte ones as well as the foil/ shimmery ones. The matte colors in the eyeshadow palette are nicely pigmented and they blend really well with each other. Unfortunately, the foil/shimmery eye colors are not as pigmented as I was expecting them to be. I tried using my fingers as well as a dry and damp brush for applying the shimmery shadows but they somehow still do not perform too well. The darker shimmery green is still better but the brighter neon green (center color) requires a lot of work.
Texture wise, the colors are good and easy to apply and they do work well with each other and even with colors in other palettes. Even the staying power of the colors is decently well. With an eye primer, the colors can stay put upto 4-5 hours without creasing.
Overall, I would say that this was an average palette for me. I was expecting a little more from the palette especially because it is pricier than its counterparts. The matte color are decently pigmented but the shimmery/foil colors are not so vibrant.
Though this palette is cheaper than the other similar palettes (Huda Neon Palettes: Rs 2450 & Makeup Revolution Neon Palettes: Rs 1250), still I won’t recommend this until you are not looking for a very vibrant eyeshadow palette.
Pros of Nicka K Lucky Charm Eyeshadow Palette:
- This green eyeshadow palette is cheaper than the other small green eyeshadow palettes available on the market
- The matte colors are pigmented and they blend really well with each other
- The colors have a decently good staying power
- The color theme looks pretty and it has a good variety of greens
Cons of Nicka K Lucky Charm Eyeshadow Palette:
- Pricier than the other palettes from the brand
- The foil colors are not very pigmented
- The palette looks neon in the packaging but the actual colors are not so neon
