MAC Lipstick Morange: Review and Swatches

Like everyone in the beauty world, I too love MAC and the thing that I love the most from this brand is their lipsticks. I have shared with you all the MAC lipsticks that I have collected over the past 2 years. A Few months back when MAC’s Wet and Dry collection was launched, the lipsticks shades in the collection had a shade called Morange and I really wanted to get my hands over that shade. Unfortunately, when I went to buy the stuff, the lipstick was already sold out, but then the SA told me that Morange is not a limited shade and I can still get the color but in regular packaging. I didn’t think much and bought the lipstick. Today I will be sharing my thoughts about one of my favorite orange lipsticks, MAC Lipstick Morange.

Packaging:

Like all MAC lipsticks, this too comes in a black tube with a dome-shaped lid. Though I wanted to get the limited edition packaging, but as I didn’t get that, I decided to get the one in regular packaging. The packaging is completely opaque and the color name is written on a label pasted on the base of the lipstick. The packaging of the lipstick is cute and sturdy but the only problem is that they have to be recognized by name and for that, the lipsticks have to be stored inverted. This actually becomes a little more difficult due to the dome-shaped lid.

My take on MAC Lipstick Morange:

Morange, as the name suggests is a shade of orange, but it is not any orange, it is one of the brightest oranges MAC has. It is actually a bright neon orange color. Morange is one of the MAC’s best selling shades and the shade is loved by all. This is especially because the color suits every skin tone. You might not be very comfortable to wear such a bright shade initially, but once applied, you cannot help but love the shade. The color makes me look fairer which is the reason I love it even more. Though the color makes my teeth look a bit on the yellow side, but as orange is my favorite color, I could not have ignored this lipstick.

Morange is superbly pigmented and just a single swipe of the color is sufficient to get an opaque look. But I personally like to apply 2 swipes in order to make the color look even prettier. Morange is an amplified formula from MAC and thus is neither matte nor too glossy. The lipstick is super smooth to apply, but as it is very pigmented and has staining properties, care must be taken while applying the color, as once applied in the wrong area, it becomes really difficult to remove the color. Though the color is not matte and so not very drying, but still I like to apply a lip balm beneath he lipstick to make the lipstick glide even better. The color does not feel heavy on the lips and is not sticky.

The staying power of the color is good too and this is especially because the color has staining properties. After a meal or loads of glasses of water, the glossiness f the color may fade, but the color does not disappear even after full meals. It might fade from the inner sections of the lips but remains well at the outer sections.  All the MAC lipsticks have a nice vanilla fragrance to them and I love that fragrance. For the girls who do not like to have fragrance in their lipsticks need not worry as the fragrance fades away when the lipstick is actually applied to the lips.

I applied this lipstick in my best friends engagement and had snacks all the evening, but thankfully, the lipstick did not go anywhere, though I reapplied it a bit to get back the glossiness but the color remained unbeatable throughout the evening.

Pros of MAC Lipstick Morange:

• Beautiful orange color
• Amplified formula makes it even more pigmented
• A single swipe is sufficient for getting the most opaque color
• Super creamy
• Stays on to the lips for a sufficiently long time
• Sturdy packaging
• Non-sticky (I personally don’t like sticky formula)
• Does not feel heavy on the lips
• Makes me look fairer
• Nice vanilla fragrance
• The color can look good with any skin tone

Cons of MAC Lipstick Morange:

• The color can be difficult to recognize without opening the lid due to all black packaging
• Storing the lipstick upside down in order to read the names can be difficult too, due to the dome-shaped lid
• Pricey

Would I buy this product again?

If I am ever able to finish this complete lipstick, I would definitely buy it again

Yes! If you love orange then this is a must-have color for you
