Lakme Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color Red Smoke (05) Review
Looking for a rusty red lipstick? Lakme Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color Red Smoke is the right choice for you! Hello friends, today I will be reviewing the shade Red Smoke from Lakme’s liquid lipstick collection. It has been a while since the brand came with these lipsticks in 8 color options and being a lipstick hoarder I bought and swatched all of them.
Price: Rs 750 for 6 ml of product (BUY HERE)
Available in 8 vivid shades that stunningly complement Indian skin tones, the all-new Lakmé Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color is has a velvety matte texture and delivers a lush, suede-like finish. The formula is weightless and feels feather-light on your lips with an intense color payoff. Longwear by nature, it also lasts through the day.
These Lakme lipsticks come in a cylindrical transparent tube with a screw on cap. Like most of the other liquid lipsticks in the market, these too have an applicator attached to the lid. The packaging is sturdy and safe to travel with.
My Experience with Lakme Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color Red Smoke:
Amongst the 8 shades in the collection, there are 2 colors which I can consider my favorites while 2-3 which I didn’t like at all. The shade Red Smoke lies in between the two categories. It is a good color but I won’t say that this is my favorite. Red Smoke is a rusty Red lip color which is good for ladies who want to experiment with reds but do not want to go too bold with a bright red.
Pigmentation of the shade is good and it is not patchy at all. The color dries pretty quickly but it will not make your lips feel dry. The color is transfer proof and can stay up to 3-4 hours. Being a liquid lipstick it is expected to stay a little longer (at least 6 hours), but unfortunately, a meal reduces its staying power. The product might stay even for 6 hours, but only if you do not eat anything during this time.
Overall, I would say that Red Smoke is a good color, definitely not a must have but it does work decently well. Though I am not too happy with the price range here, if you get the product on discount and you are into rusty reds, then this one is worth a try.
