Lakme 9to5 primer + matte lipstick Ruby Rush: Review and Swatches

Lakme has recently launched primer + matte lipsticks revamping their previous 9to5 matte range. They also introduced some new colors to the range and I have picked two of them. Today, I will be reviewing Lakme 9to5 primer + matte lipstick Ruby Rush.

Lakme says:

Lakme’s new matte lipstick comes with a built-in primer that comfortably glides onto lips. Smoothen and prep lips to lock in color for a long-wearing matte finish.

My experience with Lakme 9to5 primer + matte lipstick Ruby Rush:

Well, Lakme didn’t change their typical 9to5 packaging this time too. Nothing new to say about these packaging as we are very much aware of everything about them. The Same glossy rose gold tube but yes, they are travel-friendly and sturdy.

Ruby Rush is a coral mixed red and it has a strong coral tone. The shade looks a little neon-ish on the lips so those who don’t love neon colors should be aware before buying this. This shade is suitable for fair to medium skin tones and may look very neon-ish and bold on dark skin tones. The texture of these lipsticks is very smooth and glides very easily.

It settles into semi matte finish and wearing time is long enough, to say 6-7 hours without a heavy meal in between. The shade ruby rush is nicely pigmented and 2 swipes are more than enough to cover the lips. This gives opaque finish and doesn’t look patchy on lips. But lip exfoliation is required before application.

Swatches:

The lipstick looks beautiful in the bullet as well as in the hand swatch. But on lips, it looks neon-ish and very bold. Also, it may not suit every skin tone. If you love neon-ish bold shades you can give this a try.
