Kiko Milano Nail Lacquer Violet Dark (332), Review and Swatches

I love painting my nails and so whenever I get a chance to try products from a new brand I always buy some nail polishes from the brand. Few months back, Kiko Cosmetics opened a store in Noida, so to try some of their products I went to the store. But the store had so much collection, that I ended up buying way too much, which included some nail polishes too. Today after trying the polishes for a long time, I’ll be reviewing the shade ‘Violet Dark’ (332)

Product Description (As mentioned on the official Kiko Website):

Enamel strengthening and hardening action.

The gel texture gives an extreme lacquered shine and a degree of fluency ideal for perfect control in writing and ease of application.

Special resins facilitate the adherence of the nail pigments creating an elastic and resistant film which, thanks to the active anti-wear, amplifies the duration and brilliance of color.

The Citral, an active of natural origin from the reinforcing properties and hardeners, seals and protects the nail creating a unscratchable light armor.

Full color, pearl, metallic, flame, glitter and microglitter: Whatever the desired effect, the result is always above expectations.

Every nuance is calibrated with maximum precision to optimize the writing, the opacity and the yield of the pigments.

My take on Kiko Milano Nail Lacquer Violet Dark:

Packaging:

Kiko polishes comes in two different kinds of packaging, this one is the pure colour nail enamel which comes in a long rectangular shaped glass bottle. The brush of the polish is attached to the lid (like all the other polishes). The brush is of decent thickness, neither too big nor too small. It is just big enough to cover the entire width of the nail in 2 strokes. There is nothing too great about the packaging of the product but I love the fact that the colour can be seen even from the top (along the sides of the cap). This makes it easier to recognise the desired colour, even if the polishes are stored inside a drawer.

Colour and Pigmentation:

As obvious by the name, shade number 332 is a dark violet coloured polish. It is a beautiful colour which instantly brightens up the hands. It is a non shimmery shade and hence is very easy to remove. 332 is an opaque colour but it takes 2 coats to get the perfect finish. First coat might sometimes appear streaky and has much less staying power.

Staying Power:

I won’t say that I am super impressed with the staying power of the colour but yes it does stay for a decent amount of time. If a single coat of the polish is applied, then don’t expect it to stay even for 2 days, It takes 2 coats to make the colour stay for 3-4 days, and even in those 3-4 days, if top coat is not applied properly (along the edges), the colour might fade from the top of the nails.

Some swatches:

The colour looks absolutely beautiful on the foot nails too!
Pros of Kiko Milano Nail Lacquer Violet Dark:
  • Beautiful colour which instantly brightens up the hands
  • Love the shape of the bottle (which lets you see the colour even if the bottle is kept inside a drawer
  • Does not stain nails
  • Does not have a very strong smell
Cons of Kiko Milano Nail Lacquer Violet Dark:
  • Not very long lasting
  • Fades from the top of the nails
  • Appears streaky in the first coat
Would I buy this product again?

I am not exactly happy with the formula but I loved the way this colour looked on my nails. Moreover, it is not one of those super high priced nail polishes and it did not stain my nails. So yes, if I don’t find a similar colour in any other brand I might re-buy the colour again.

Do I recommend this?

If you love the colour then yes, this is the one to try.

Rating: 3/5
