Mascara is an important part of every girl’s makeup routine. Without the right mascara, your makeup can look incomplete. I am not someone who tries too many mascaras. I love Maybelline Falsies mascara and I always go back to that one. Whenever I have tried a new mascara I have never liked them except the one from Shiseido (which I’ll be reviewing later). My Falsies was almost finished and this time I decided to try something new and went for Essence Get Big! Lashes Volume Curl Mascara.

My experience with Essence Get Big! Lashes Volume Curl Mascara:
The name says the claims of the mascara. It is claimed to give you beautiful thick curly lashes, but unfortunately, it did nothing like this to me. The fiber brush of the mascara is thick, it’s huge, and I assumed it to work well but nothing happened in the first coat. After my first coat, I did not feel anything on my lashes, forget about them being curvy or voluminous. I tried coating them with a second layer, and there it started working. I thought that may be a third layer would make my lashes as claimed.
Even after the third, fourth layer, my lashes were looking just ok. It gave me an effect which falsies can give in just 2 coats. I like my lashes to look separated and curly. The mascara did not clump and the little curls I had in my lashes were due to the eyelash curler I used prior to the mascara application.
Now, came the time to test the staying power of the mascara. I know that the company does not claim the mascara to be waterproof and neither did I expected that, but I didn’t even expect it to get transferred on my fingers by mere touching my lashes. It was a long day when I applied the mascara and kind of humid too, and at the end of the day, I was looking like a panda. My mascara was all smudged up. Yes, the product is easy to remove and you actually won’t need an eye makeup remover to do so. Just rub your eyes lightly and you will have your mascara off your lashes.
Overall Thoughts:
I am not in love with the product and after trying it for a full day I would have to select the days I would be able to use this, may be this would be good for a 3-4 hour long duration.
Pros of Essence Get Big! Lashes Volume Curl Mascara:
- Not tested on animals
- Affordable
- Decent quantity of product
- Travel friendly
Cons of Essence Get Big! Lashes Volume Curl Mascara:
- Does nothing for my lashes
- Gives my lashes no curl or volume (as claimed)
- Smudges pathetically
- No ingredient list mentioned on the tube
Would I buy this product again?
No! I am not sure how am I going to use up this tube, forget about buying a new one.
Do I recommend this?
No! The claims might seem attractive, but the product did not perform for me.

Even I expected something better out of this mascara. No mascara seems to work well for me….
