Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color Ruby Rust: Review and Swatches

Today I will be reviewing about a lip color from the brand coloressence. Coloressence is one of the most affordable brands that are available in India. They do have a good variety of stuff and some pretty good color selection in lipsticks. The shade that I will be reviewing today is called Ruby Rust.

Active Ingredients: Almond Oil, Vitamin E (these are the only two mentioned on the pack)

Product Description: A unique combination of coriander & basil extract. This lip color nourishes, protects, moisturizes and is hypoallergenic. It voluminise the lips.

Packaging:

The lipstick comes packed in a black packaging with a black colored paper cover. The packaging is very average, nothing to get excited about. But yes the lipstick is travel-friendly and the lid is sturdy to protect the lipstick while traveling.

My take on Coloressence Mesmerising Lip Color Ruby Rust:

When I saw the name of the lipstick I assumed it to be somewhere between a ruby red and a rust color but the color is not exactly true to its name. Ruby Rust is a rust-colored lipstick which has no signs or undertones of red. It might seem to have a red undertone in the bullet but when applied it actually has orange undertones.

As far as I have heard about coloressence lipsticks, they are not very pigmented and 3-4 swipes are required to get the opaque color, but thankfully, Ruby Rust is a pigmented variant. Just 1-2 swipes are sufficient to get a completely opaque color on the lips. The color actually looks very pretty on the lips but might be a little too dark for everyday use. The color does not contain any shimmers which makes it day appropriate. The staying power of the color is good too but is not something extraordinary. It can easily stay up to 4 hours but the color is transferable. This can make the color fade during a meal or while snacking.

The lipstick has a glossy texture but can be a little drying on lips. To solve this problem a lip balm beneath the lipstick works perfectly. A gloss over the top of the color can also be applied but this can make the color even shinier which might look a little overdone during daytime. Another problem that some ladies might have with this lipstick is its fragrance. Though I am fine with the mild fragrance it has, some ladies do mind if their lipsticks have fragrance. This lipstick is a no for those ladies.

Overall for the price range, I can say that I liked the lipstick, especially its color and its glossy texture.

Though the color and the formulation are decent but I might not buy this again. I would rather try something else.

Yes! If you are looking for a nice rusty color in an affordable range than this is a good one to try.
