Colorbar Feel The Rain Wonder Gel Nail Lacquer Lightening (03): Review and Swatches
I love beautifully packaged products, due to which I sometimes tend to buy products that I not very much sure of buying. Few days back Colorbar came up with their ‘Feel the Rain’ Range and due to the awesome looking packaging I bought some of the products from the range. Though I wanted to buy the complete range, I restricted myself to buy only 1-2 shades from each category. Today I’ll be reviewing ‘Colorbar Feel The Rain Wonder Gel Nail Lacquer Lightening’.

My take on Colorbar Feel The Rain Wonder Gel Nail Lacquer Lightening:
Packaging: This polish from Colorbar’s ‘Feel the Rain’ collection has a similar bottle shape as the other polishes from the brand, the difference being in the cap. This collection has a golden coloured cap with visible water droplets on the cap. It is very similar to MAC’s Alluring Aquatic collection which came few years back. The brush is of decent size and the lid is sturdy.
Colour: The first thing that I noticed about the colour is that it is not as deep as shown in the pictures on Nykaa. When seen online, the colour seems to be berry toned but when actually applied it turns out to be a normal pink coloured nail polish. I am highly disappointed by the colour I selected, but that’s the negative point in ordering products online. The polish does not contain any shimmer particles and is an easy to wear kind of shade. It can go well with the majority of the skin tones and the majority of Indian as well as western outfits.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation of the polish is also average. Being a gel formula, I expected it to be a little more opaque, but it wasn’t what I expected. It takes a minimum of 2-3 layers to make the color look opaque on the nails.
Staying Power: Another minus about this nail polish is its staying power. The company claims it to stay for 7-8 days and I do expect the same from a gel polish. But the company has also added the term ‘depends on usage’, which should not give the formulation an excuse to chip in just a single day. I applied the polish in the evening and by next evening it already started fading from the outer edges. The second day was even worst, the polish started to chip making it look terrible.
The product has some plus points like it is Cruelty-free or Non-Carcinogenic, but this does not make it a buy again product. I am not sure whether it is this particular color or the formulation and staying power is similar in other shades too. I do have another color from the range and I would love to try that too to get a better knowledge about the line.
Pros of Colorbar Feel The Rain Wonder Gel Nail Lacquer Lightening:
- Beautiful Packaging
Cons of Colorbar Feel The Rain Wonder Gel Nail Lacquer Lightening:
- Majority of the claims made by the brand are not fulfilled in this particular color
- Poor staying power
- Chips and fades the very next day of application
- Colour does not match the swatches shown online
- Not so good pigmentation
Would I buy this product again?
As far as this particular color is concerned, I would not buy it again.
Do I recommend this?
